Island Food and Wine Festival
The Galveston Island Food and Wine Festival held in mid to late April is a spirited event focused on the very best food and wine in Galveston. There is live music, wine tasting, fine dining, and classy parties. During this event, you will experience the satiated side of paradise. 

For the bird, nature or photography enthusiast, FeatherFest is a must attend event. Featherfest has events that appeal to children, adults, hobbyists, and professionals in the avian industry. It is hosted in mid-April and lasts from Thursday through Sunday with a special opening event on Wednesday night. There are many and varied events on each day including workshops, talks, demonstrations, and a plethora of bird viewing. From early in the morning until late evening, this event is packed with the natural beauty of Galveston and features over 200 types of birds during the spring migration period. 

Historic Homes Tour
The Historic Homes Tour occurs at the start of May. This is a great way to uncover the inside story on the history of Galveston island through the homes and stories shared. The tour offers discounts for tickets purchased in advance or with a large group. 

AIA Sandcastle Competition
AIA Sandcastle Competition is for one Saturday in early June and boasts an amazing display of sand art set up along the East Beach of Galveston. For over 2 decades professional teams of architects, engineers and designers have assembled for this event to compete in various categories and create their masterful sandcastle displays. The event requires a cash-only parking fee and there are no ATM machines close by so come prepared. Also, you may bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on site. Carpooling with friends and family is recommended.

Dickens on the Strand
Dickens on the Strand is an event in early December that harkens back to our European roots and shows a historic celebration of Christmas time festivities. Featured in this fun-filled weekend event are parades, musicians, carolers, costumed Charles Dickens’ characters, and food and craft vendors.

Mardi Gras Galveston
Mardi Gras Galveston is in February and includes dozens of parades in both the Entertainment District and along the Seawall. The Krewes of Mardi Gras Galveston entertain with the elaborate floats at the parade and offer a sense of camaraderie that permeates this event. At night there is first-rate musical entertainment, bead tossing balcony parties, and even formal masked balls. The entire event is filled with drinks, food, friends, and of course fun and lasts for 2 weekends.
